I purchased a 12ga a couple of years ago. Mainly to use while training the dog. They are really well made, solid guns. I have used mine for quail, pheasants and goose. Also on occasion for a few rounds of sporting clays. They handle well and never a problem. They are a far cry from the early russian guns.

For the price, they can't be beat.

By the way, Savage is bringing out a sxs with false side plates that made by Baikal. It will be the Savage 411. From the photos, I just may be tempted to pick one up.

I to was looking for 20 Ga. O/U 3 years back everyone said you have to start out with nothing less than a Ruger Red Label, Iam not a big shotgunner Id rather spend my money on another good varmint rifle, so I bought a IZH 27 for $349.00 I take it to the local trap range to shoot with my buddys they all shoot on a team all summer with $1000.00 + trap guns, here I am with my cheap Russian gun out shooting most of them everytime I go up there, My low score was 20 and My best was 24, I like the gun so much that I bough My 12 year old daughter a 410 singleshot, and thier single shot trap model for this trap season. I know there are better looking smoother shotguns out there but I cant complain about mine. GoodLuck Deathray

I have 3 EEA sxs I love them. They are best gun for the money right now.I can shoot my two 20 ga better than any shotguns I ever own. That includes Browning,Remingtons and Winchesters.I have the single trigger ejector models with choke tubes.I can stratch them and not cry.You scratch up a Ruger O/U or Browning it will make you cry.EEA builds good SXS and over and unders.

I looked at some sxs Baikals here and the pistol grip is too far back, the LOP is way too short and they put a spacer of contrasting wood under the pad maybe to increase the LOP.

The metal work seems quite good for the price.

The Savage 411 which is American version has longer length of pull.I saw 12 ga the other day it was pretty nice looking. It has different recoil pad and no spacer.I guess Russians are shorter armed.
