Hey guys, I'm looking at picking up a CZ over under, any suggestions on what model? I have never shot one but like their rifles and the over unders seem to be priced reasonably. I'm looking for a 20 gauge for quail and pheasants. Any help would be appreciated.

I had a CZ Woodcock, the top line O/U. It was in 20ga with 28" barrels. Great gun. While CZs are not Berettas, the quality is very good, in my opinion. My particular gun did not fit me well, so I did not shoot it well. I sold it. I have a CZ SXS Ringneck model. It's also in 20. It fits me fine, I shoot it well, and it's one of my favorite pheasant guns. I'd say go for it. You'll get a gun that is both well made and attractive for a modest price. Good luck. 114-R10David

The CZ's (Huglu, made in Turkey) are good values for the money. I don't like the rather opaque finish that CZ uses on the wood. It tends to obscure the grain. But outside of that, there is very little to complain about in the CZ shotguns. I can't remember what the model designations are, but basically, you have your choice of extractors versus ejectors, single triggers versus double triggers, and pistol grip versus English stock. Simply choose the features that are most important to you and buy the gun that has the most of those features. In terms of quality, they're going to all be similar.
