What are you currently paying for clay birds at your local gun club. Our local club needs to raise their rates, but we don't want to get any more expensive than other clubs. We are in a metro area of about 150,000 population. velocity is like a new car, always losing value. BC is like diamonds, holding value forever.

Our club currently charges members $3.00 per round and non members $5.00 per round of 25, same for trap. We went up about a year and a half ago. **STAY ALERT! The world is running out of lerts; we can't afford to lose anymore!**

First figure all your costs on a yearly basis and create a fund for trap repairs and clay target replacment. Those funds have to be set asides and are not to be touched. Find all your taxes, annual building manintenance costs, utility costs and arrive at what it costs you per bird to shoot and go from there. If the neighbors are charging less than it costs you to break even, you have to charge more or create a way to make more money.

I haven't priced them in a loooong time but I imagine a case of 135 goes for at least $9 delivered these days. That is $1.80 per round just for targets, add labor, maintenance (mowing repairs, club house repairs, expansions, etc) in and $3 is absolutely a losing price. Something like $3.50 to $4 for members is the ABSOLUTE minimum IMO unless you've got a helluva lot of volunteer labor (and you can ride that volunteer too far, I can tell you that as well). Hell, we were charging $3 at the club I was President of nearly 20 years ago, and believe me, we weren't raking in cash. xxxxxxxxxx When considering US based operations of guides/outfitters, check and see if they are NRA members. If not, why support someone who doesn't support us? Consider spending your money elsewhere. NEVER, EVER book a hunt with BLAIR WORLDWIDE HUNTING or JEFF BLAIR. I have come to understand that in hunting, the goal is not the goal but the process.

$5 for members $7 for non-members If your hunting dog is fat, then you aren't getting enough exercise.
