Paul I remember my Dad's 97 having a mind of it own every so often, and they can be querky at times. I still loved that old gun. Anyway if I were you I'd ask your question over in the "Gunsmithing" thread, Not many "Smiths" around anymore that know much about these old-timers. If you get no answer there you might try a search for an Action Cowboy Shooters page and see if someone can help you there. Good luck MM

Paul, the slot in the carrier where the pump arm fits will get worn, along with the end of the pump arm. This wear will cause the carrier not to move as much as it should. You might be able to get a replacement or find a good smith that can weld up the arm and regrind it to the original shape. Good luck. Ed
