I've got an old Winchester SShot which is my spare turkey gun. It has developed the problem of the hammer not cocking with a shell in the chamber. Sometimes it will not cock empty. I don't want to spend any money at the gunsmith, and wondered if anyone had some ideas where to look for the problem. Thanks

Take it apart and clean it !

Concho : Will do if I can figure out how to get it apart! I assume I have to drive out a few pins.

Use my e-mail and send info about gun MDL # I will look it up and send you instructions for tear down or what I think it possibly might be .

Concho: I took the action off the stock last night. I degreased it outside, and lubed it. It seems to work fine now. Now onto stock refinishing!! Thanks
