| I have a sproting clays version that I slap a rifled slug barrel and scop on for deer hunting in my state --slug area. This shotgun has worked flawlessly for all my shotgun hunting for over 20 years. I have 2 more 11-87's in the safe. But this shotgun shoots very well on trap, skeet, small game and deer -- its all I use except for duck and geese-- there I go to 10 guage. |

| Bwana, Nice shotgun, I had some bad experiences with a few that wouldn't handle lighter loads and still eject, but I have picked a few up recently and thought they felt really good. So, as long as you get one that can eject the shells you intend on using (which won't be an issue if you're just shooting singles at trap and goose loads), you've picked a good gun. Beretta semis are the favorite nowadays for people using a semi for clay target shooting and seem to handle a greater variety of shells with less difficulty. But I can't say they feel as good as an 11-87. Something to consider, though.
I heal fast and don't scar.

| I've had ny 11-87 for about 15 years and have put a few thousand rounds through tthe gun and have never had one failure to feed or eject. I've shot light 2 3/4" trap loads to 3" mag 000 buck to 3" 1 1/4oz slugs and have never had one problem. Everything on the gun is still original. Maybe my gun is a fluke but I take it. Hope the info was helpful. |

| I too can endorse the 11-87 without reservation. Using it in trap might require purchase of a shell clip (to block full ejection of the empty so as not to hit the guy next to you on station). It's ejection is simply great and I used one for about 7 years. I put a Hudson rifled slug barrel on and the groups at 75 yards were astonishing to me -and I was told by other 11-87 owners that they were routine. It was my first auto and I became sold on the auto because of the 11-87. Easy to feed and easy to empty. What's not to like? |
