Safari: My only experience with an auto duck gun is a Beretta, but I am sure impressed by the ruggedness of the Benelli. Wish they weren't so costly.

IMHO, the Browning Gold was absolutely made for waterfowlers.

The speed load feature isn't just a gimmick in the duck blind. You'll get spoiled by it quick! Just keep shoving shells in the magazine and never take your eyes off the birds. This really gives you an advantage when the birds are pouring in.

The manual cutoff lever lets you swap a single shell in the chamber without emptying the magazine. It's really quick and easy to get the hang of.

Any place near Savannah to shoot clays? Maybe I should take a road trip.

I am a Beretta fan, but of the choices given I would choose the Benelli.

I voted for the Benelli...just got a SBE II myself. Nice guns but of course any of the choices will do a good job.

I love the "Warhorse" A5 and have used the A5 all my life for upland birds but voted for the Benelli Black Eage for maintenance reasons. I have used my partner's Benelli but I believe it was a Super Black Eagle and thought highly of it. However, my preference is the Ruger SS Camo coated O/U Red Label.

I love the A5. From much experimentation with Hevi shot I have no need for 3, 3.5 in 12s or 10 ga. 1 ounce of #6 in a 2.75 incher 12 will cleanly kill ducks and geese farther than I can put into print without someone unfamiliar with it flying the BS flag.

However, If you want to build a semiauto 4 bore and pattern it on an A5, I would be very impressed!

Last year I bought 4 Stoeger 2000's. They are licensed to use the Benelli inertia system and cost under $500 each in the USA. I have a bit of experience with shooting many rounds through many different brands of shotguns. These guns are in my opinion the best buy around. They shot 500 rounds a day at duck and 2-3 thousand a day at dove. 28 gram loads and 32 gram loads work just as well in these guns. One shooter used 2 of them to fire over 1800 rounds in 3 and a half hours to kill 1000 dove. The only significant malfunctions were during the first 300 rounds put through each gun, untill they wear in. I don't have any comercial interest in you buying a stoeger, I just am passing on what I have lived. These are the answer to those that want the great Benelli system at a fair price.

Justin.....HEVISHOT. I gave some left over shells to two of the guys I had been hunting with and the following week with a Texas Game Warden as witness one of those fools killed 4 snows(on the ground)at 80 yards with one shot. It was an original ENVIRONMETAL load. 1 ounce of #6 in a 2&3/4 inch 12. I cannot imagine the results with almost 2 ounces in a 3.5". I have since gotten rid of all but my model 12 and H&R single shot circa1920. They see lead only. I am now shooting #6 HEVISHOT in a late model sweet sixteen. 1 oz of #6 in a 16 ga is unbelieveable lethal. Use as little choke as necessary. When shooting over decoys I like a skeet choke or cylinder. Pass shooting I prefer improved cyl. HEVISHOT requires VERY LITTLE choke to produce incredibly tight patterns.

Happy Hunting!

I shoot shotguns for Browning.

We have a new auto coming out at the end of 2009 that you may want to wait for that will be called the "Maxus".

Check it out on youtube and search for "Browning Maxus"

If you need one sooner, the Browning Silver is what I shoot now and is awesome. The SX3 would also be a good choice. Browning makes them both...........

Gonna try out the Weatherby SA-08 next, I want an autoloader myself but am not too fond of the listed options. Going to relegate my 870 to turkey and deer with accessory barrels.

SAFARIKID......

Have you checked out the Maxus video on youtube yet? It describes all the new innovations it has.

Like I said, if you can't wait till year's end, the Browning Silver is awesome. You can get it in the 3 1/2" configuration and it will shoot anything you put in it even the light 2 3/4" loads. We used it in Sasketchewan on a Browning TV hunt and it never failed. It also comes avaiable with the camo soft touch stock and camo barrel in different Mossy Oak patterns. I like the "Duck Blind" version.

for many years i've used either and 870 or a 11-87, but bought a win sx3 this year and have been very impressed. it never missed a beat with either 3" or 3.5" rounds and i really like the way it shoulders. recoil is not an issue. i looked at beretta and benelli, but settled on the win. no regrets. i live in arkansas and duck hunt every day.
