Definitely an odd piece.

It would be nice to see it actually firing, that thing is just strange looking.

Somebody went to a lot of effort. My question is why? You fire and break the gun, the empty ejects, this doohickey drops a shell in, you close the gun and cock the hammer and are ready to shoot again?
