Shot a PITA match today.........everything was going great, busted my 24th straight bird.......and # 25 rolls ups....... I call the bird.........a straight away that rolls to the right, I lay the barrel down, and pull the trigger...........and I'm left a little...........and miss!!!!!!! I couldn't believe it! I had the chance for my first 25 in a row..........and I blew it! What is a guy to do at the 25th bird? [ 01-15-2003, 06:10: Message edited by: CK ]

break it...for it isn't any different than #1 through #24. It will help when 25 straight isn't such a big deal to you for your tension is working against you. The first 25 is a big thing but with some practice you can hit 25 straight with boring regularity...of course then comes the wind and rain!

CK, I KNOW I can break every target from 16 yards. All I have to do is tell myself to SLOW DOWN! I imagine this might be what happened to you. You were feeling great for breaking all the targets so far, and just were not prepared for that easy one. Sometimes I forget my own advice, and miss a few. In fact, I think I missed very few 25th targets. And if I remember rightly, it only happened once. We were having a 500 bird marathon, and I missed one in the first 25, then missed the last one of the second 25! We then had a bet that I would finish the marathon without missing any more targets. The bet was a steak dinner at the Texas Tumblweed, my favorite meal. I kept telling myself to SLOW DOWN, and managed to end with a 498, and a free steak dinner. Bill Poole, our club manager, was not too impressed, as he had to fork out for the steak!

Saeed, I don't know if you remember, but last year I mention to you that I took up trap shooting for the first time, and I was hooked. I remember that you wrote with singles "it's one shot at a time". From that time on I took your advice. I even got a new BT-99 with the adjustable comb. You had one too....correct? Well, to me, this trap game is totally mental........ if I have something else on my mind, or in my personnal life, it affects my trap scores. A pure focus on the target is where your mind set has to be, and reflecting on that 24 in a row streak, I let my focus go before I was finished........I know what needs to happen.........Focus on one target, and slow down, one after another. We've started our winter trap league, in-which we shoot at night, with all types of weather........snow or rain, wind.....or all at once......makes the targets very interesting. As side note; Congratulation on the birth of you daughter, she's beautiful. Was she born in Nov. 2002? We also had a daughter born to us Oct. 1st 2002. Life is good! Thank you for the come-back, and I'll keep you posted
