I saw a SxS shotgun where the bores were beveled at the crown inside the barrel. They were just beveled inside aobut 1/8-1/4 of an inch. The shop says the barrels were not cut, and didn't know the reason why the guy did this. It appeared to be a decent job, but why would this be done on a shotgun? It still was choked at full/modified, and the shop owner said the pattern would still be the same. I asked at a couple other stores at it and everyone said they had no idea why this would be done. It was a Stevens 311, and while I'd normally pass on such a thing, it was in super nice shape and all originalsans the beveling. Any insight would be appreciated. | ||
