They'll make a spectacular mess out of a melon or grapefruit, or even a liter soda bottle. It makes an impression on a youngster. They'll kill hogs and deer too, but shot placement is critical. At very close range they tend to blow up and make a grapefruit sized crater at the surface of hogs, which isn't a bad thing if the hog is only 2 grapefruits thick. I always thought it a shame that somebody hasn't developed a serious slug load for the round, and 1/5 oz ain't the answer. The 000 buck loads are more effective IMO. BTW, I haven't shot a fox with one, but methinks they'd probably cut Li'l Red in half. I think you could probably send 180-200 gr down a .410 barrel without the pressure getting pissy with you. | ||
