I'm mostly a rifle hunter not much of a shotgun guy. I've happily used the same 12 ga. Rem. 870 with misc. barrels for a wide variety of game for decades. But, I've developed arthritis in my neck and can't do the recoil anymore. So, a new automatic shotgun is in my immediate future. Mostly I'll use it for turkey, squirrel and doves. I occasionally kill a goose and may try skeet when I retire. I'm thinking a 20 ga. may work fine. Nobody seems to make a 16 ga. auto anymore. The Benelli Cordoba or Benelli M2 Hunter with the Comfort Tech features look good to me on paper. They're both pricey so I'd appreciate informed recommendations and comments on the Benneli's or viable alternatives before I write the check. Sei wach!

I cant really speak for the Comfort Tech stock and recoil reduction since neither my M1 or M2 have them. Benellis are excellent shotguns period. They use an inertia action as opposed to a gas operated system or recoil operated one. Since I own a auto shotguns of all three systems, I would rate my gas operated shotguns as having the least amount of felt recoil, then the Benellis and the recoil operated models having the most. If I were looking for a shotgun with the least amount of recoil I would be looking for a gas operated models by Beretta and Winchester. Hope that helps. If you do go with the Benelli, you wont be dissapointed in them though. 30+ years experience tells me that perfection hit at .264. Others are adequate but anything before or after is wishful thinking.
