I have a Rem 870 12 guage with a 28" barrel. I want a replacement barrel that accepts screw in chokes. I am very new to shotgunning...it just never was my thing before. Is there a barrel length that is sorta universal? I will be shooting clays, doves (1 or 2 shoots per year), cottontail rabbits, the occasional bobwhite quail while rabbit hunting, and a lot of crow shooting.

I like the idea of a short easy swinging barrel. What about Hastings barrels? Length?
