OK, a little more info... will use a 28 inch barrel and barrel only handles 2 3/4 shells Turkey will be called in or stalked, pheasants/quail will be hunted over dogs or walked up, and ducks will be hunted over decoys or over tanks, and dove will be hunted over tanks or in "fly ways... Thanks

I had a 30" full choke Remington 870 barrel cut down to 20" and choked by a Darlington, SC, gunsmith (can't recall the name) in 1992. He had to use the Colonial Thinwall's because the barrel steel was insufficiently thick and the bore non-concentric. I purchased x-full, mod, and skeet2 chokes and have used all 3 extensively with no problems. All three tubes still screw in and out, no trouble. I have not shot steel through any of them. My recommendations/experience: turkey - either full or x-full depending on which patterns best with your preferred load dove & quail - IC, skeet or skeet 2 ducks - IC over decoys or (maybe) Mod for fields & pass shooting (although anymore I rarely ever switch from the IC in my duck 870 and honestly am not sure I can tell the difference with quality steel shot) pheasant - used to shoot full but more recently (last 15 years) use modified and probably wouldn't suffer much with IC if hunting over a decent dog Good luck. -WSJ
