Arbiter is home!
... huge grin ...

Picked up an SAS .308 Arbiter titanium can yesterday from the dealer.

Checked it out with 2 6.8 rifles this morning.

Number one is a 16" 6.8 w an ARP lightweight bbl. Fitted with a flash hider adapter. Midlength gas system. YHM Handguard. Springfield 3# trigger in Aero Precision lower. Ammo was 100 gr AccuBond on new SSA brass; CCI 450 primers, and 28.0 gr of DP2200 powder. Primers flat no swipes. Rifle has a 3-9x Burris FullField II scope. Is not a quiet combination.

First two rounds went to fouling the bbl. Then three rounds in a horizontal line abt 1" long.

Number two is an 18" 6.8 w a WOA SS heavier fluted bbl. Fitted with a brake adapter. Midlength gas system. YHM handguard. RR two stage match trigger in Aerp Precision lower. Ammo was 100 gr AccuBond on new SSA brass; CCI 450 primers, and 28.0 gr of DP2200 powder. Primers flat ... no swipes. Rifle has a 4.5-14x Burris FullField II scope. With the brake is pretty loud.

First round went to fouling a clean bbl. Next three gave a clover leaf at 100! No change of impact point.

Both rifles are easily hearing safe! Can hear the action noise. Sonic bullet flight is the most significant sound. In the range of a 22 Magnum. No significant gas in the face.

Target:

Group in Diamond is from the 18". Three round horizontal group at lower right side of target is from 16".

120 gr SSTs on new SSA brass, CCI 450s, 27.0 gr AA2200 shot <1" group 1" higher than the 100 gr ABs. Again, no change in impact point.

Tickled as can be with the performance of the can!

Still working up the courage to mount the can on a 300 BLK. Trying to figure out how to check alignment other than visually given the closer tolerances (0.016" less clearance for the projectile). I think that fella is gonna be just a little louder than 22 LR subs from a suppressed pistol.

Weather has not been kind to me since the last little outing.

Did the last checks I can do on the mount of the titanium Arbiter on the 16" 300 BLK topend. Caught a few minutes of weather decent enough to function check it with an estimated 220 gr SMK load. Alignment is fine, and function is fine!!

This thing is QUIET! Not sure what the ammo velocity it yet so can't tell what the hunting load will sound like. If it stays like this ... it IS Hollywood quiet!

Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Is gonna be a trip on an M16 lower!!!
