Savage 458 socom build... Or collision
I have a Digisight n550 on a Stevens.. So call it Savage plastic fantastic 223 and rifle basic trigger. With a nikon scope on it, you can expect sub Moa with untuned hand loads..

I have order socom dies, a. 473 bolt head, and will be ordering, likely, a mcgowen barrel, threaded just in case.. - 16.5" likely stainless

Intention is to make a night hunting rem 405 Subsonic launcher. A Bushwacker pigsmacker

Though I may buy a "pointer" nose forming die..

The blackout is cool.. I just like big bullets

opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club

I built one on a ruger 77 tang safety. The MCGawen barrels shoots well. go 1 in 14 twist. I also have a 458 socom barrel for my xlr chassis. Both bolt guns shoot well, not much recoil ,about like a 308. Go to page two of this forum to see photo's of the 77 with my digasight on it.

Check your suppresser options before having the barrel threaded. Rock river use 5/8 by 32 pitch not the standard 28 pitch. The stamp for my SBR can should come home soon. I have a single shot saki action with the 308 bolt face that is a switch barrel rig I am thinking of a 45 acp barrel threaded for the same can. I am thinking of running a drill bit into the hollow point cavity to make them open up at sub sonic speed.
