Conditions - sliver a moon, clear nights, VERY little light polution - everything will do better on a bright moon

gen 1 - Russian milsurp -
60 yard scope - chevron pointer - external windage and elevation - 3" groups, at 100, in day light

the good
the illuminator on this one is the best of the bunch.
easy eye relief

the bad - honestly, its a 60 yard scope

gen1+75-90 yard use
needed external illuminator
3-4" groups from known good ammo and rifle - daylight, 100 yards

the good
rugged, easy to use, lowest entry cost of new gear

the bad -
useless in daylight
its 1/2 the cost of a gen 2 or digital, but not 1/2 the performance of the digital. its a decent scope, but save up for a better one
useless in daylight

gen 2
this is likela 100-120 yard scope
red dot aiming, low mag (2x as advertised)
4" groups, 100 yards, daylight ..
the good
not much heavier than the gen1+
red dot (if you like them) easy controls.

the bad
it costs MORE than a digisight, and doesn't have anything like the performance.
useless in daylight

bushnell night vision, digital, first generation.
this is a monocoular - with a VERY bright illuminator, but very high nm .. likely about 900, as it has NO effect on the gen1, gen1+, gen2 . not tested on gen 3. This is like a SPOT LIGHT for digital
black and white (grayscale) display)

the good
decent for spotting at 100-125
COULD be better if it had more contrast/brightness adjustment

the bad
battery eater
display is WAY too bright.. easily the brightest/most blinding

pulsar digisight
weight 1kg, 4.5 x mag, moa at 100 in bright daylight, good contrast/focus (contrast could be better, controls for these should be on left side)

the good
FULL DAYLIGHT USE!
with 4.5x, and included illuminators, i was able to CLEARLY see a raccoon at 165 yards.
very long range, as compared to previous
battery charge display
can work in very low light, can adjust contrast WAY up/down for conditions.
onboard illuminator is very good

the bad
the secondary, but included, illuminator is not as good as the (made by same parent company, but branded another) bushnell ill.
still WAY too bright display (ruins night vision)
gray, not green, display
doesn't come CLOSE to 12 hours rated as "on, but no illumintor" on freshly charged 2900 mah batteries.
controls are awkward for focus and contrast - should be on left side, as that supports bipod/rest use and adjustment easier

gen 3, no mag
uses the Eotech as primary sight, very good image quality, batter hog. group size not measured

the good

the bad

very high cost of entry
no iluminator

all in all, I have a strong preference for the digisight, and have offered my feedback for product improved - needs more optical power or at least a zoom feature- NOT digital zoom.

i would really like to have a flashlight/illuminator from the bushnell digital to use with the digisight... the 940 flashlight included with teh digisight PALES in comparison to the bushnell -- which is made by yukon, which owns pulsar.
