Does anyone know the legalities involved in shipping cartriges to Canada? I'd still like to make a display of the "classic" big game cartriges for my basement. If it's not a problem to ship I'd also be willing to buy a few items from members here. thanks the chef

chef I haven't yet figured out how to post a link on this forum so I'll just type it in and let you do it from your end. http://cartridgecollectors.org/shipping.htm Good Luck. Ray Arizona Mountains

Ammo can't be shipped by USPS, so you would be limited to international shipping by UPS or Fedex. I would check out their web site and contact them for specifics. Ammo is a quantity restricted commodity. http://www.ups.com/content/us/en/resources/select/sendi...toms/prohibited.html http://www.ups.com/ga/CountryRegs?loc=en_US

I should have mentioned - many collectors simply send empty cases. Especially if you're only talking about a few cartridges for collection or display. It makes things a lot easier. I recently sent such cases to collectors in Australia, New Zealand, and Czechoslovakia. To some countries you can send loose bullets along with the empty case. To some you can't do that. Not sure about Canada. All this can be done via USPS by attaching a customs declaration and paying regular priority postage. You simply declare it as a gift and call it inert or scrap brass. never had a problem. Ray Arizona Mountains

Calgary - some folks, including at least one fella who sells a lot of stuff overseas, will render a cartridge inert for a fellow collector for a nominal charge so it can be shipped outside the continental US via mail. Otherwise, you will need to make arrangements with someone who crosses the border to bring them in for you. I sell to many Canadians who have material shipped to US addresses and then they or someone acting on their behalf bring it across. There are some forms to complete, but it is not a terribly painful process, especially compared to other parts of the world.
