The .25 Rem.has been obsolete for many years,it was Remingtons answer to the 25/35 Win. It was chambered by Remington,Standard, and Stevens in auto loaders, pumps, lever and bolt actions. It was less popular than the 30 Rem. In regions where it was popular you can still find ammo.I was in lower Mississippi about 5 years ago and every pawnshop and gunshop had a couple boxes of ammo on the shelf. Most other parts of the country I have been in the last 25 years it is hard to find. The good news is it can be formed from .30 and .32 Rem.brass easily. With a bit more work it can be formed from .30-30,.32 Win.Spl.25-35, or 38-55 Win.brass.There are several lighter constructed .25 caliber bullets that can be loaded in the .25 Rem. It is in the same class as the 25-35 Win.except in the model 30 Rem. bolt action,in which it can be loaded hotter. It was introduced in 1906,production was stopped about 1950.No rifles have been produced since 1942. WC | |||
