Here is a picture of a 81 caliber cartridge given to me by my uncle some years ago. The case was machined and the bullet appears to be almost pure lead. I can only guess it was someone's experiment. A 308Win is shown to compare the size of this beast.

I agree, Murray - looks very much like a scale (a very LARGE scale ) model of a .22 Short RF to me. Perhaps it was intended as an offering to a Texan.
