Got a question-

does anyone here know how to decipher the codes on the back of old Kynoch ammo boxes? I have 390 rounds of Kynoch 9mm Mauser ammo, and the codes on the boxes are -

14 S Y
and
16 R Y

also, I have a old box of 577/450 Kynoch ammo, it is in a green and red box (not the yellow and red box). Its code is

7 M D

Thanks!

If your date code "chart" says 14 S Y is 14 December 1950 and 16 R Y is 16 November 1950 then it's the same as mine!

The D on the large calibre cartridges could be 1929 or 1955 I believe. But as the Green and Red boxes were available from 1936 onwards I'd say 1955.

If your "chart" is the same as mine!
