Got a question- does anyone here know how to decipher the codes on the back of old Kynoch ammo boxes? I have 390 rounds of Kynoch 9mm Mauser ammo, and the codes on the boxes are - 14 S Y and 16 R Y also, I have a old box of 577/450 Kynoch ammo, it is in a green and red box (not the yellow and red box). Its code is 7 M D Thanks! *We Band of 45-70er's* "Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." -Theodore Roosevelt-

nevermind, found it *We Band of 45-70er's* "Far better it is to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs even though checkered by failure, than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy nor suffer much because they live in the gray twilight that knows neither victory nor defeat." -Theodore Roosevelt-

If your date code "chart" says 14 S Y is 14 December 1950 and 16 R Y is 16 November 1950 then it's the same as mine! The D on the large calibre cartridges could be 1929 or 1955 I believe. But as the Green and Red boxes were available from 1936 onwards I'd say 1955. If your "chart" is the same as mine!
