I am quite the fan of the .22 WRF.... have been now over half a century. My question is as of late in doing some research on the Internet is in the title above. Many are saying the .22 WRF and the .22 Remington Special are the same cartridge except the .22 Remington Special has a round nose bullet. Research seems to show this thought originates from "Cartridges of the World" I have studied both .22 WRF and .22 Remington Special ammunition for years... I had a good friend in Montana in the 60's and we shot his Remington Model 12 in .22 Special a lot back then. George had the biggest assortment of 'part boxes' of .22 WRF/.22 Rem. Special shells I have ever seen! I asked him why.. Seems the ammo was getting hard to find even then, and George bought what he found. Some was older (even then) nickel plated, even hollow points which disappeared after WW2? Bottomline here???? I HAVE NEVER SEEN A ROUND NOSE LOADING IN A .22 REM SPECIAL! Has anyone here seen such? I would love a photo if someone has. This may stem from the .22 Remington Autoloading round... It is indeed a round nose loading AND I SEE A LOT OF CONFUSION ON FORUMS THINKING IT THE .22 SPECIAL...... Thanks for any help! BigRx | ||
