I just found a cartridge I would like to know more about, a loaded 45/60 Winc. This thing has a larger rim than a 45/70, at least it won't slip into the 45/70 hsellholder, and a very short bullet, almost looks like a pistol bullet. Any and all info would appreciated. Lord, give me patience 'cuz if you give me strength I'll need bail money!! 'TrapperP'

Cartridges Of The World-5TH edition has a small write up about the .45-60. They indicate it was introduced in 1879 for the model 1876 Winchester, and the dimension data indicates a rim size larger than a .45-70. Also, the stated factory performance is a 300 gr. bullet @ 1315 fps. радянський лайно --- йти ебать твою мать слава Україні

The 45/60 was made to fit the 1876 Winchester action because the original 45/70 cartridge was too long .It had the bullet seated deep into the case too .Anyway , it is possible to make shootable 45/60 ammo from 45/70 brass , by trimming to length the case and seating the bullet to the proper depth .Uberti of Italy still makes replicas of this rifle , and when they were tried by the Armi & Tiro magazine , the writers made ammo in the same way
