While processing a batch of 45 ACP cases picked up at the range, I ran across a few headstamped "Federal NT .45 Auto". These were small-pistol primed and had flash-holes about .098" rather than the .086" flash-hole of the R-P cases. Anyone have any info on this variation? Bud W

Bud That is some of the new "Green" ammo. Means Non-Toxic. Uses a copper jacketed, zinc core bullet, and nontoxic copper-colored primer. Contains no heavy metals or toxic metals. Several different manufacturers make NT ammo. Ray Arizona Mountains

Thanks Ray... yes, the primer was copper rather than tinned. My problem is that I handload so extensively that I never know what's being done commercially! Bud W
