Thank you for the response. I am waiting for more info too And we may never know. The gunshop lady said there were all kinds of numbers on the gun. My thought is they should have checked the rifled bbl very closely. But I have no clue. It is described as a German highly engraved action rifle over 16 gauge bbl. I'll ask again the next time I go in.
