I continue to cut my own firewood. Burning today. Cold outside but not inside the house!

I have a handle on a full cord for 225.00 delivered at my cabin in Elk bend Idaho. My other home in Spring creek Nevada they same cord of wood goes for 350.00-400.00 per cord and those boys are always short not knowing what a true cord of wood is. And people pay it.
Crazy...

I try to make my own firewood, but it’s getting harder at 74 yrs old

I run a outdoor wood boiler, and it will consume 13-15 full cord / 6 months of heating season

I have top of the line equipment, but you have to be committed to the task every day..

I may not be able to keep up with the demand for to many more years

A good cord is a lot of wood. Learned that in Alaska. Black spruce, when dead-cuts well.

Now I cut what I use and most survivalists best learn
forest skills with a saw and axe. Not to mention
rifle, hangun, and scattergun...
and maybe a Randall belt knife.

I just contracted a timber sale for my land.

The highest bid I got for oak pulp was $2.50 a ton. IE firewood

Price is at rock bottom.

The largest buyer of oak pulp went out of business.

I am glad I sold most of it 10 years ago.

The pulp I have now is in the tops of timber trees.
