Addressing a cheques distribution ceremony to stakeholders’ of community based conservation organizations in Gilgit, the Chief Minister said the GB provincial government acquired land for an LPG air mix plant to provide gas to the GB consumers, initially to the people of Gilgit. The step was taken to minimize the usage of wood, as people were cutting forests for use in winter season, he added. The CM appreciated the efforts of the Wildlife Department, NGOs and community in safeguarding and sustainable management of wildlife of the region. Ghulam Muhammad, Conservator Parks and Wildlife Department GB in his speech thanked the honorable guest and other participants to join hands with the department in raising awareness of the importance of wildlife conservation. Meanwhile, the Gilgit-Baltistan wildlife department has been issued permits for 4 markhors, 80 ibexes and 14 blue sheep for Trophy hunting game through bidding system. The bidding ceremony was held in forest complex Gilgit on last week.
