505, If you would like some details and info on the Nepal hunt, let me know. We work closely with the top outfit there. Since the re-opening of Nepal last year, I have had several hunters go for blue sheep & tahr. All have returned saying basically the same thing ...it's one of the best guided hunts they have ever been on. Let me know if I can help in any way. www.safari1.com clark@safari1.com Best, Clark Jeffs Safari Outfitters, Inc. Cody, WY

My Grandfather was a Gurkha officer and my father was born in India at the start of WW2 as they were based in Nepal and northern India for a couple of decades. I grew up with Indian pictures and artefacts around and stories of teh NW frontier and even heard about Jim Corbett teaching my grandfather jungle warfare. I'd love to hunt in India and/or Nepal. However, I understand India has banned all hunting. Is this correct or is there still some chance to hunt the jungles?

You are correct in that the 1971 Wildlife Act prohibits all hunting in India. However, in recent times there has been some ado about introducing problem animal culling or selling permits. However, given the Byzantine rigmarole of Indian bureaucracy, it may take a bit more time for clarity on the subject.Yes, there is a possibility of legally hunting in India. http://timesofindia.indiatimes...icleshow/2520482.cms http://www.huntingreport.com/w...te.cfm?articleid=337 Best- Locksley,R "Early in the morning, at break of day, in all the freshness and dawn of one's strength, to read a book - I call that vicious!"- Friedrich Nietzsche
