If it were me, find out what the rarest/most likely to become unhuntable soon ibex is and start there. If they all yield the same answer, then I'd start with what is most difficult to hunt as the mountains don't get shorter as you get older. As to who to contact, there are many great outfitters that post here. Greg Brownlee at Jeff C Neal Inc. has always taken good care of me before, during, and after the hunt. ____________________________ If you died tomorrow, what would you have done today ... 2018 Zimbabwe - Tuskless w/ Nengasha Safaris 2011 Mozambique - Buffalo w/ Mashambanzou Safaris

My father and I recently returned from a successful hunt in Kazakhstan booked thru Arjun Reddy and Seladang. We hunted Altyn Emel National Park about 3 hrs northeast of Almaty, taking 3 ibex between us, 2 were 97cm and the other was right at 1 meter. We both missed larger ibex and many ibex were seen each day. The mountains were vehicle accessible (barely) and then you climbed to the next valley to hunt. I would recommend the hunt and we plan on posting a report in the future.

Webster, what did you pay for this hunt? In Kyrgyzstan, in our hunting areas this hunt will cost 4500USD + flights 1500USD=6000USD By Ajrun Reddy you have paid more as 6000USD ONLY for one ibex!!! And the trophy is not in USA. You leave the trophies in Kazakstan. The shipment will also cost more as 1000 USD I know, together with your father you have paid more as 15000USD!!! But you trophy is not in USA now... This is a price for Marco Polo in our hunting area in Kyrgyzstan.

Igor, Yes we paid a bit more than your advertised price and I had contacted you about an ibex hunt, but after you got very defensive and belligerent when a member asked you about a problem you were having with a client, we booked with Arjun. Your Asian connections may be great, but your manners could use some work.

Please ask the hunters which recently have returned from Kirghizia or Russia.I don't have problems with my clients. We have annually about 50 hunters. Only to Kirghizia there come 20-25 hunters. It is a lot of hunters from Europe, but some hunters from the USA. Therefore it is not necessary to accuse me that you have ordered hunting more expensively because I badly communicate with my clients. Do you remember, that you have told to me that you don't plan hunting for 2012. Do you want, I will post here your mail? If you have payd more many - its you problem, but there is no my fault in it. As to your hunting in Kazakhstan you have paid much more and a trophy yet you haven't received. It is the fact.I think, what you won't deny it?

Profihunt is very good to deal with, have used them before with no problems. I am looking at the same hunt next year as well.

Have also done many Asian hunts with Profihunt allways with great results. They also have a nice special on the ibex on their website. The mid asian is the best place to start as Mongolia has become more expensive and less reliable. Please contact Dennis Shadow there.

Kyrgyzstan has bigger ibex than Kazakhstan but you will have to work much harder for them. The biggest mid-asian ibex live in Kyrgyzstan; probably the biggest in the Chui valley near Bishkek. Unfortunately the Kyrgyz don't know anything about game conservation and overall trophy quality is much lower than it used to be. The Chui valley doesn't have much to recommend itself right now vis-a-vis big ibex and even remote areas in the country have been hard hit. Kazakhstan has a much more serious stance regarding poaching so numbers are good but the genes there tend to produce smaller trophies.

maybe but after being convicted more than two times in BC of poaching this is not the outfitter ill go with. i just add that i was talking about Bryan Martin.

Ah, that explains why he dropped off the radar with BC outfitting. Thanks for the info. ______________________________________________ The power of accurate observation is frequently called cynicism by those who are bereft of that gift.
