Footage from a Tian Shan Marco Polo hunt Renaud just did in Kyrgyzstan. The Tian shan marco polo is more or less the same animal as the Marco Polo from Tajikistan. The hunt is done on horseback at lower altitudes than in Tajikistan so hunters do not have to cope with the high altitude problems faced in Tajikistan. The cost of the hunt is also much cheaper than the one in Tajikistan and one can also shoot Ibex and wolves if one is in the right place at the right time.

Renaud reported seeing a lot of Marco Polo and the client shot this on the second day at 330 meters, he was using a 30-378 weatherby. They did several approaches on different herds some under 100 meters.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

That night after Richard took his Humei ram, we celebrated his success by having a cookout.
Renaud decided to give us a taste of his French culinary expertise & cooked Richard's rams tender bits. Lightly pan fried in French olive oil, lightly crusted with French sea salt.
One of the more "interesting" meals I can say I've had!

Renaud showing us his creation before serving.

Looks good!

Richard diving in!! He earned this meal for sure!

Congrats, Richard, on a great ram. We enjoyed ya in Kyrgyzstan with us!
