Anders,
Awesome report and a true wilderness hunt. Your stag and ibex, regardless of size, are far better trophies than most taken on luxury hunts.
Thanks!

Anders!
You are, of course, right...
There are zones on borders where hunting is possible.
So becomes in all national parks in Belarus and Kazakhstan.
On this picture it is possible to see where a zone forbidden for hunting and where hunting is possible
The territory bordered with a red line is a prohibited zone for hunting.
The orange zone or buffer- hunting is possible as well as a striped zone.

AndersThanks, profyhunter!
Interesting map, btw. The website mentioned on the map seemed very interesting, but as I do not understand Russian it was hard to understand.
Is it availeble in English? Is there detailed maps for the area? I've been trying to find such maps without luck. I always think it's fun to have maps of areas one have hunted.

Hi Anders!
I can not find a map in English.
Is it possible to try Google Earth?
If I find, I will send to you on an e-mail.
Best regards
Igor

jwmAnders, I just found and read this thread...fantastic adventure and great report! Congratulations! In years to come, think of how much more memorable this will be due to the discomfort you experienced, and the eleventh-hour timing of your ibex.
I hope you exercise discretion and do NOT post where your trophies have gone for taxidermy...it appears that someone has their sights set on you, and might cause you some problems, or at least some inconvenience.
