I'm considering booking an ibex hunt through Arjun Reddy (reddy375) for November 2012. The area is the Naryn River hunting area in the Tian Shan Mountains of Kyrgyzstan. The outfitter is Renaud Desgrèes du Loû of Seladang.

I would appreciate any and all feedback on the booking agent Arjun Reddy, the outfitter Renaud Desgrèes du Loû of Seladang, and the Naryn River hunting area. Thanks.

Brett

PS. I know there were some concerns and still are with some minor political unrest. I spoke to a friend stationed there today and he said displays of the unrest are few and far between. He further stated that since elections are expected to take place later this year he thinks most if not all of the political unrest will be a thing of the past by November of next year.

Rhyme of the Sheep Hunter
May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

I would use Safari Outfitters as my first choice, and then another big American outfit like Cabelas or Atchesons after that.

Talk to Clark Jeffs at Safari Outfitters before you send money to a french company.

I understand what your saying about picking a good booking agent. That said since there's no American hunting companies in Kyrgyzstan I'm going to be sending my money to one country or another. If I'm using an American booking agent why shouldn't the final destination of my money be France? Because it's going to be somewhere other than the USA.

I've only been to Kyrgyzstan once, and certainly wouldn't discourage you. However, there are a whole lot of potential problems for a hunter there. Be exquisitely careful of who you book with, and check out the local operator. This is a post-communist country and business practices and ethical standards, both hunting and otherwise, are not what we are used to. Feel free to PM me.

Hi Brett.
I had a response from my friend, and tried to send you a message. I'm not quite sure how this works going through AR. Please email me at gbricemartin@comcast.net and I will provide more info.
