Hi R. Locksley,
our government has introduced the 'community based hunting programme' in the recent past, some of our mountain species like the Markhor, Sindh Ibex, Blandford Urial etc were almost on the verge of extinction due to poaching and the locals killing the animals and consuming it as food source. since the introduction of the C.B.P. the numbers have improved incredibly as 80% of the trophy fees is re invested in the local communities, building schools, creating employement etc.

Thank you,Sind_Ibex. I am very pleased to note that the hunting is now sustainably managed and it is demonstrating positive outcomes both for the animals and local communities.

@Nakihunter : yes the snow leopard is a very old trophy when the snow leopard were not protected. nowadays they are highly protected along with some other very rare species like Chilten Markhor, Ladakh Urial, Wild ass, Asiatic cheetah and white striped hyena.
best regards.

Sind, would you be able to give an idea on costs for these hunts, or is it like buying a Farari, if you gotta ask the price, you can't afford it??? Big Grin

A guy has to dream.... I love to hunt sheep here in British Columbia, but last year I broke my leg and missed the season, and this year may be a bust as I am sheduled for a bone graft surgery on Mar. 1 Confused.....

Thanks for the photos, some great looking trophies for sure....

Cheers
Chris

Faisal's Blackbuck in the wild, its the new SCI all time world record should Faisal decide to enter it, the old record was shot in India back in 1955 by Mr. Shuja-ul-islam and it was 29inch left horn and 30 inches right horn, this monster is 31 inches left and 31.5 right horn.
