Anyone ever book an Asian hunt through this outfit?

If so, I'd like to hear about your experiences on your hunt. I am back on the hunt for an ibex hunt. I have been on again/off again too many times on this hunt. I am ready to book for Nov 2011. Just have to find the right outfit to go with.

What other options do you guys have to offer (besides profihunts out of Moscow.. I won't book with them. Too many horror stories) for a Kyrgyz ibex hunt through a legit, honest outfit with the chance at a good goat?? I'm all ears at this point.

For options you can inquire with Safari Outfitters, The Hunting Consortium, or Harv Hollek. All of these companies represent Kyrgyzstan ibex hunts. Best of luck--Mark Hampton

Hard to say, I have booked with Kern in the past, Safari Outfitters at the moment, and HH for 2011. Just wanted to share with you some possibilities/options for Kyrgyzstan ibex. You might consider touching base with them and see what they offer. It's a great mountain hunting experience and I think you will enjoy. Hope you get a monster. Cheers--Mark

Keep us updated, scotty.
I am looking for a ibex hunt in 2011, too. Not sure about outfitters.

I booked a Dagestan Tur hunt thru Abed and he handled everything flawlessly. There were no payoffs or an other problems at all. We all had great oppurtunities at nice rams and on day five a killed an absolute giant, 16 year old ram. I would not rule out booking thru Abed at all. Great guy!

Jim

thanks for the the recomendation for Abed..

While I didn't end up booking with him, I went ahead and booked with my initial outfitter I was speaking with about the hunt. Abed was one of several others I was "vetting" to see how others' hunts went with them.

We leave nov 9th!

Scottyboy,
Who did you wind up booking with? I'm flying out to Reno for the sheep show and this is one of the trips I'm looking into. Wouldn't mind if you could share some info.

my apologies for getting back to you late... got busy getting ready for Reno and then was there for 5 days..

Anyhow, we are booked with Arjun Reddy (reddy375 here on AR). He represents Renaud Desgrèes du Loû out of Paris, France who is the owner/operator of Seladang. I met with Arjun in Reno and spent quite a bit of time speaking with him and getting all the details hashed out for the hunt while there.
I have Kathi booking our flights for the hunt as I type this. Everything should be in place and bought and paid for by tomorrow for this hunt!

We are booked for a mid Nov hunt and here's hoping for a 50"er!!!!

Good deal Scott. I'm booked with Renaud through Arjun for the end of October 2012. My uncle and two cousins will be joining me.

May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Awesome! I'm sure we are all in for a super hunt over there with this outfit!

I think we are going to have a wonderful hunt with Seladang.. I spoke at length with Renaud over the phone and he assured us that its going to be a good hunt in a good area. He'll get me into the area.. the rest is up to me!

I'm really looking forward to both of this year's goat hunts. Total change of pace for me.. Finally had to scratch this goat itch that's been bugging me since I chased tahr and chamois back in '01 in NZ.

I'll be looking forward to your report. I'm also on a alpine kick. I'm headed to the Brooks Range this August for sheep, grizzly, caribou, and wolf. I must agree though the goats are something!

My buddy Jeff and his brother are booking the hunt dates immediately before your hunt with Renaud.

Sounds like Arjun and Renaud found a good market to focus on with all of us!

9 months and counting!!

No kidding!!! I'm thinking I may do Marco Polo with them some time after this hunt. Kind of want to head back to Africa first. I'm thinking Africa 2013 and then perhaps the Marco Polo 2014? We'll see.

Dear Scotty

The guy I hunted with is no longer going.

Maybe give Chris Nash a try
<snsafaris@gmail.com>

He hunts this part of the world each year.
So time hard to get hold of. Not sure what part of the world he is in this week.

Regards Mark
