Anyone ever hunt with a XP-100 pistol in Mongolia?

After taking a really nice pronghorn with one a few years ago, I'd really like to do more open country hunting with one.

I am probably going to start buying them, as I think they are going to get harder and harder to find.

Especially single shots to build custom specialty pistols out of.

I( have 2 of these , one in 221 fireball and the other I am building in 300wsm. I would like to shoot a coues deer in Mexico but no hand Guns
same as Canada. I think it would be grate to have these for huntingall over the world. It would be a good test of shooting.

Blaser93,

We'll have to hook up when I get to Maine in January.

I used to shoot a 284 in a XP.

Are you sure you want to that big, that's a hell of a lot of recoil on the hand. The 284 was pretty nasty, but still manageable. I am betting a 300 would be nastier still.

Have you shot something like that before?

I think Pamela Atwood hunted someplace in Asia with a XP. I guess I will ask Clark when I talk to him next.

I am thinking 250 savage, 6.5x284, 358 Winchester, and 221 Fireball. Pretty much cover my Alaskan and Wyoming hunts with that.

yes I know I am Blaserman on BlaserPro.
If you want to know more about XP100 there is a site called Specialty Pistol and there is a
forumn in there with XP-100 and Striker pistols.
There is a guy on here and there Ernie who shoots a XP-100 in 7 mm Dakota .
6.5 x284 is a good choise

D99, Sorry this has taken so long but I have been having trouble logining in. I have hunted Mongolia three times with a handgun. The last two trips I used an XP in 284 Winchester to take Gobi ibex, gazelle, and Hanguy Argali. XP's are very accurate when set up properly and work well in the field.
