Recent studies in India have shown that there are plenty of urban leopards around the country and far away from major forest reserves.

Bombay city has many leopards on the outskirts of Borivillie national park. Bangalore city has many leopards around Bannargatta national park. Northern Bangalore had leopard in town around a lake and some drainage areas. Hill towns like Ooty have many resident leopards in the various gardens and wooded properties in town.

Romulus Whittaker did a documentary on urban leopards a few years ago and it was amazing to see leopards outside Kancheepuram town - about 30km from Madras / Chennai outskirts and far away from any reserve forest area.

Leopards and their attacks will become more common in India.

No hunting

Increase gdp for India means more trash which means more stray dogs -leopard food

Increase gdp means more goats for meat consumption - more leopard food

And these damn sucker can live anywhere tu2

So much for asiatic leopards being endangered

They are not but it is nearly impossible to keep an accurate count of them.

Like coyotes - small footprint animals.
