Does anybody know about recent hunts in Nepal? since years I´m keen on a classical porter safari in the Himalaya. Know personally three poeple who hunted there in the 80s/ early 90s and all of them talk about an unique and proper hunting. One of them also shot thar and ghoral.
Some years ago - before the political problems- I was very close to book but I fracture my right hand... It seemed to me that this is one of the last real adventures like elephant in the rainforest but I cannot get much information about the present situation (poaching, Maoists, licenses) Read something about it in huntingreport and heard about a famous outfitter: Mahesh Busnyat. Would be nice if somebody can fill the gaps, post some pics or can give me some advice. Thanks!

Dentist,

I believe it was J.Y. Jones that did the hunt recently in Nepal that was written up in The Hunting Report.

The booking agent was The Hunting Consortium, Bob Kern, 540-955-0090.

Thanks Kathi, that`s the same single info I found, too. Wrote email to Jeff Neal. My European agent told me hunting in Nepal is possible but much poaching, low game numbers and bad trophys. Hope not.
Anybody here who hunted Himalaya in the good days?
Kathi, love your posts in the African forum. you must have a very good access to African news?!

You should also talk to Clark Jeffs at http://www.safari1.com/ Safari Outfitters has more experience in Asia than anyone. Most of these other outfits have only been around since the 1990s if that.

Safari Outfitters has been around since the 1960s, and pioneered most of the Asian Safaris of that time.
