A friend asked NSOK earlier this year about Cambodia, but they had not yet taken a safari into the area. They were hopeful for doing so later in 2013. Don't know if they achieved this or not.

NitroX , when are you planning on going ? I was their in 1999 ,still a lot of land mines around during that time , the roads were rough and if you needed to ,,well take a piss , you did not step off the road to do it.

spent a week in Siem Reap , I rented a motor bike , sometimes with a driver , some without and had a great time just backpacking around looking at all the temples . I did see one deer skull in the back of a shop couldn't tell what species but was larger than a roe deer and smaller than a sika .

then took a long boat to Phnom Penh , around 5 hours . really interesting going thru all the houses on the river , and I do mean on the river, don't know if some of these people ever walk on land, Shure thay do ,, but ?

Phenom Penh was like most big 3rd world city's, fast paced traffic that you need to try and cross without getting hit and lots of corruption , had to watch you ass around hear. one item of note is the shooting range , you could shoot AK's 50cal , all kinds of fun things that go bang and Boom along with beer and harder stuff. all the while planes fling over head,,
something to think about as you fly out from the airport , some drunk tourist is below you with an automatic rifle!

I had a great time on that trip , spent 7 weeks backpacking in 5 countries in S.E. Asia over the millennium , just wanted to see that part of the world , only bad side was doing it solo was no one to share the fun with, but Bangkok on New years Eve was , well not exactly Solo !

wish I was going with ya as it is a really interesting destination if you have any questions feel free to ask and ill try and help any way I can .

Great travels , Mark

I dont know if you can hunt there ,but there are plenty of water buffalo ,i was there in 2003 as a side trip to see Angkor, i went to visit a Thai woman i met on the net ,bad idea [as Arnie would say] which i lived to regret in more ways than one ! Got to fire an RPG ,AK47 ,belt fed machine gun ,hand grenade ,1911,.Went to kick boxing tournament which was good ,locals bars which are infested with hookers and woman bent on giving you a shoulder massage for a $1.Did a boat trip up to Seim Reap where we got grounded, and had to wait for a smaller boat to take us the rest of the way, which was overloaded and packed, if it had capsized we all would have drowned ,well worth it to see Angkhor Wat ,nice people ,damn hot weather

Haha my reaction too 505 Gibbs! I've been wanting to go to Cambodia and see Angkor Wat as well. Plenty of friends have been to S.E. Asia and one goes and works at a VIP resort every april to get a free vacation.

I did a small group hunt there in early spring of 1971, just after the monsoons ended.
