I have a muntjac skull. Sure a strange looking thing. Mine came from mid UK. George "Gun Control is NOT about Guns' "It's about Control!!" Join the NRA today!" LM: NRA, DAV, George L. Dwight | |||

I used to hunt them in South Indian Tea Plantations in 1984. I shot 5 - 3 males and 2 females. I got a really nice buck - 3 points on each side, Length of antlers was 4.5 inches which is very good. World record is around 7 inches from the 1920 or so. Unfortunately I did not have a camera then and the skull was left with someone in India and lost. The Muntjack found feral in the UK is a smaller species and it very rarely develops 3 points per side. Nice article. It refers to the Kashmir Red deer - Hangul. I saw a few in June 1979 when I trekked into the Himalayas at 10,000+ feet and slept in a shepherd's hut for 5 days. No antlers in Spring. I also saw Himalayan black bear. One even came around our hut at night. It was a great experience walking a full day and living is such remote wilderness with one local Forest department guide. "When the wind stops....start rowing.
