This is so sad. Corrupt Chinese military officials in the Tibetan highlands shoot herds of these critically endangered antelope. There are photos on the web of entire herds of hundreds of animals slaughtered. The Kashmiri weavers buy the smuggled contraband and make the shawls. There has been a thriving illegal trade with retail shops in Hong Kong that was busted by a TV sting operation a few years ago. It looks the Chinese tourists are coming to the source in India to buy the shawls! "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick." | |||
