Weather was a bit warm this time, got up close to 90 late afternoon.
Used up 875 rounds this year, lost count of the birds downed. One morning my partner and I dropped some where around 48 teals and that afternoon 60 - 65 doves. The folks in the village ate well.
The birds would come in waves, it was like shooting into a flock of pidgens at the local park. It was not uncommon to drop two or three birds with one shot. My partner using a 20 gauge over and under did real well, far better then I.
The new Winchester Super X mod.3 performed wonderfully. The Spanish shotgun ammo is dirty stuff, the gun looks like I was using coal fired ammo. I took a cleaning kit but never cleaned the gun for the intire 875 rounds. That's tomorrow's chore.
If you any of you guys like to duck hunt this is the place to do it. There's something to be said for hunting ducks wearing short sleeve shirts and shorts, and worrying about sun burn.

As one who spends a lot of time duck hunting in ice and snow, hunting ducks in weatehr like that would be downright strange. That said, it sounds like fun. Smiler What kinds of species were there? Any info on cost and arrangements would be appreciated. Pics would be nice, too!

The outfitter was Trek@treksafaris.com

The birds were teal, pintail, spoonbill, Mexican duck, white wing and morning doves.
Costs around 3500. to 4,000.
I'll get some pics to post as soon as I get them posted to hunting101.

Should mention your wife will love you for taking the trip. There's great buys on alligator pocket books, etc.
