Is that a ruddy duck next to your widgeon?

Thanks, Craig. Only seen one here a few years ago, and that was during late goose season. He must have known that duck season was closed, because he swam right up to me on the river, looking like he wanted a handout...Smiler

KG, we've chatted on this site before; if you ever find your way out here in the soon-to-be socialist hinterlands of CA, look me up and we'll do some 'fowling, seriously.... always enjoy your pics and your posts...Ruddy's are a sharp little duck when in full drake plumage, they get that bright blue bill very late in season, at times that's all we'll see!!!

Best Regards,
Craig Nolan

Hey, I appreciate that, Craig. Actually, as a kid I used to go to NorCal every year a couple times to be with family (Marin Co.), and love it up there. Used to chase deer around the streets of San Rafael. Never caught one, though. Wink

Would love to get out there to chase ducks with you. Of course, you'd have to agree to let me reciprocate, and come hunt back east. Let's do.

Thanks, and I'll shoot you a PM soon.
