Hello Lorenzo,

We are working with a company called Black River Outfitters there owned by the Portella Brothers(Juan Pablo & Nacho). I am coming down there on the 17th of Feb with 14 clients and am looking forward to a great hunt! We will be staying at their San Cirilo Lodge there on the Black River.

Regards,

Cameron

Hahaha, so it's you the one visiting them during februrary there !!

They are good friends of mine and they asked me to set a couple of feeders on their property as there are pigs and axis deers there but they don't know much about big game so they asked me to help them.

I am just doing it because I enjoy it, I have nothing to do with their business.

It's more, when I hunt there I also pay for the pigs despite they don´t want me to do it, but I think it's fair as they do that for a living.

I don't know how many days I will be able to stay there as I am also receiving some people from the States during february to see if we can do some business (bovine genetics).

There are some big axis roaming around those woods but they ain't easy as they are really spooky deers !!

A good friend of mine from Canada and AR member also with some doves from there..

The gun room

Myself and some pigs I shoot there last december (I think)

Well see you there, and please don't expect too much pigs, I just started baiting them Big Grin

collector,

Coming from you that's a real compliment !!
I'm not a bird hunter but I have been following your threads due to the FANTASTIC pictures you post on them.

I don't know why, living here, I never develope an interest in bird shooting. Those times I have done it I enjoyed them very much and I was surprised how much walking and nice exercise is done when hunting partdriges.

But off all the bird hunting I think the one that really shines must be duck hunting...I'm wright ?

I must start someday but I don't even own a shotgun yet.. Roll Eyes

Good hunting

Lorenzo,

What a small world about you doing the big game hunting for our group! I was with Juan Pablo and Nacho this week at the Reno show and really enjoyed their company, great guys for sure! Looks like the dove shooting was good that afternoon. How do you think the dove shooting should be in a few weeks? We are also shooting decoying pigeon, how about those? And the Golden Dorado fishing? Looking forward to seeing you in a few weeks and hopefully we can trade stories over a drink!

Cameron,

Doves should not be a problem, they are plenty !!

I hope to be able to spend a couple of days there with you. When are you traveling there ?

Despite I have done a lot of flyfishing around the world I have never been fishing there Big Grin

The water is warm now so there should not be a problem. Also you can fish for tarariras, another local fish that takes lures. Here is a picture of another friend of mine and AR member from Texas (Jim Foster) with one a tararira cought near there.

In case I have to return early to Montevideo I will leave my guns behind for you (300wm, 270 win and a 6,5x55) as they don't have rifles, only shotguns. I expect to be there at least two days so we can have a beer or two and give deers and pigs a try.

Take care

Lorenzo
