Four of us went out to finish the season. We expected to kill redheads and a couple of pintails but not much more. We left for the boat ramp at 10am and got to the island where we set up for red heads at 11:30. Piled out of the airboat and set out six dozen decoys, unloaded the guns, gun bags and dog and made a blind on the shore while the driver parked the airboat three hundred yards down the shore. Since the birds were pleantiful we decided to shoot drakes only. We had two on the strap before Austin got back from parking the airboat. We killed six more drakes and started picking up decoys to move to our pintail spot within an hour of our first shot. All eight drake pintails on the strap. About an hour later after picking up some brush for a new blind and talking to some friends in another air boat we built another blind about three miles from our first spot. Not so hot and heavy as it was earlier but over the next couple of hours we managed to scratch out eight pintail drakes, one mottled duck, five wigeon, and two blue bills for limits all around. We were back home after washing the boat and cleaning ducks before the end of shooting time. All and all, a great way to finish a great duck season. Don't ask me what happened, when I left Viet Nam, we were winning.

Sounds like a lot of work for your ducks. Glad it worked out. I would love to see a few pics of the birds you got. Congrats on a good day out.
