ghostbirdWild Turkeys 2010 - Alabama/Tennessee
We had a good turkey season this year here in north Alabama and southern Tennessee and I thought I would share a few photos of my success. These are all Eastern Wild Turkeys that were called to the gun using turkey calls that I made.
For those on this forum not familiar with turkey hunting here in the USA, it is a sport of calling the turkey using hen turkey vocalizations into close range and dispatching the bird using a shotgun with birdshot via a shot to the head and neck. I hunt in the traditional style of calling turkeys, using no decoys or blinds.

I called this bird in for my hunting buddy...

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

ghostbird... spurs from the gobbler in the first photo, 1 3/8 inch. The longest spurs from the dozen birds killed by my buddy and me this year.
