Just returned from the 4000 mile round-trip drive....deep freeze last weekend killed us. All water frozen and ducks headed south. Pheasant were scarce....found a higher density near SoDak border but still mostly hens (as one might expect this late in the season). Just goes to show, you can't control the weather and why hunting is called hunting.

Ya....single digits and 40 mph winds the first two mornings with NOTHING to hide behind....couldn't even set decoys without them blowing away. I didn't mind the cold....just the lack of birds it caused by freezing every damn drop of water in the state.
