I am a student right now in Canada and can get a Maverick, new, 28" barrel, multi choke for C$210. I plan to bust some clays and hunt in the fall.

I have shot the 18" version years ago and remember it being bit of a rough clunker (I hate sythetic stocks, but am on a budget) but got the job done.

Do any of you use them? I realize the 870 is a better buy, but the Maverick is cheap!

Review would be appreciated.

Thanks

I have one that I have used quite a bit over the years as a beater gun. Haven't had any problems with it and it has seen some rough use. They ain't pretty, but they work, and the price is right.

The fit and finish is a bit rough on them, but they are reliable. I had one for years, and it always went bang when it needed to, and never jammed on me. But someone else wanted it more than me, so I sold it for $300 Big Grin. He was willing to pay more because it was unregistered.
