Dear All,

I looking to organise a trip with some friends to Cuba.
I can't find any info on the web (probably due to the fact that Americans aren't welcome there!)

I have been to Argentina a few times and now looking for a change of scenery. I'm particuarly interested in the various species which Cuba has to offer.

Many thanks,

John

Any help would be great.

I suspect that Fidel would not real thrilled with a bunch of Anglos running around Cuba with shot guns.
The Sandinists were a bit peturbed when they found a dozen Gringos with shotguns passing thru a village where the high mucky mucks of the Sandinistas were celebrating some anniversary several years ago.

Are the Cuban fowl species any different from those in Florida given their proximity?

@jcorry
There used to be a Canadian outfitter who was selling Cuban waterfowl hunts. Bags were in range of 25 to 40 ducks per person per day. Primary species was Blue-winged Teal. I will see if I can dig out his info.

@Norton
In addition to Blue-winged Teal they also hunt White-cheeked Pintail also known as Bahama Pintail (Vagrant to USA)
and
Cuban Whistling Ducks. Cuban Whistling Ducks are the largest of all Whistling Ducks and are really pretty. They do venture out to other Carribean Islands as well.

Many thanks. I wonder if they are very strict on how many you are allowed to shoot per day?

Many thanks for that. I've had a look at their website.

It looks like they are the only guys offering sport in Cuba!?

It should prove to be a very interesting trip...
