There's a good article on British pheasant shooting by Jed Babbin in the February 2004 issue of American Spectator magazine (pp. 52ff). The important point here is that this is a general interest politics and culture magazine, not one devoted to the outdoors or sports. Finding an article that describes and approves of hunting in such a magazine is quite unusual these days.
