larryshoresDamn it's hot
It is 8:45 at night . I just came in from the golf course . I am drenched in sweat. It reminds me that in slightly less than 6 weeks, we will be on our 7th annual duck and dove hunt in Argentina where it will be winter time. I can't wait for the cool weather.

NortonNot what I'd call hot here....it was breezy and in the 50s yesterday with a crystal clear sky.....damn near perfect if you ask me.....although I love the same kinda day in the 20s even more.
Edit: Just looked at the forecast....that heat is headed this way.

Blue DogYou damn right it was hot yesterday! The temp set a record high at 98 and the heet index was a 107. Yes to hot to soon to suit my golfing efforts.
HAHAHA Larry, we are at the other end of things in Alberta right now. The other day we had 3-4 degrees above freezing!!!!!!!! Yes it was frickin cold!!! Raining like crazy as well this week. Ponds and lakes are full around duck camp so I think we will have another record year for bird killing. I am looking forward to it.

larryshoresI am going to have to try that with you guys one year.
Here are some pictures after an October hunt and a freak snowstorm to cool you off! lol

L. David KeithLarry, I've only hunted in Alberta once, and that was for deer/moose. However, I've never seen so many ducks and geese in my life. Phil has the birds, and more importantly, the areas to hunt them. We've talked about his areas and methods before, and I don't think anyone would have any disappointments.

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......
"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
Thanks David. I am really blessed to be living where I am. Except in the middle of the winter.lol
We do have a lot of birds. Might not be the fast and furious gunning like Larry is used to in Argentina but we do have some fun. This year with the water we have I think she will be a rockin good time. I just need to buy a new camera and teach my guides to start using one and I will have a few pics for you all this fall.
Larry:
I just got in from Uruguay, where it was no colder than about 40F in the AM's. Never needed a jacket or gloves. Great duck shooting in the rice fields near Chuy. Where are you going, and with what outfitter?

larryshoresFor ducks, we will go with Argentina Outfitters near a small town named Ameghino. For ducks, we will go with Los Chanares. Both are fantastic.

larryshoresTwo weeks from today, I will be out of this oppressive heat and will be shooting ducks.
I can't wait.
